RECOGNISE YOUR SOURCE
(Make A Giving And Not A Living)
TO THE BIBLE Ephesians 4:28
“Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.”
There are people who believe the main reason they should work is so they can earn a living and make ends meet. But that’s not what the Word of God teaches.
Our opening scripture reveals that the reason you ought to work is so you would have to give; you work to “make a giving,” not a living. Some people live as though the Bible said, “My God shall supply all your needs according to how much you’re paid for the work you do.” The Word says, “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). So recognise and look to the Lord as your source for all things. He’s the One who orchestrates all things in your favour (Romans 8:28) and supplies all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
Whatever you do and get paid for is a medium or channel through which you bless others and are rewarded. Giving is God’s established medium to prosper you nancially. Therefore, it doesn’t matter how much you’re paid doing what you do, never take it as your source of income. This doesn’t in any way mean that you should handle the work with levity. Do it with excellence and shun mediocrity, and the Lord will promote you.
Psalm 23:1-5; Psalm 121:1-2
Heavenly Father, I recognise you as my source of wealth and prosperity. I rejoice to know that I can always rely on you to supply all my needs according to your riches in glory by Christ Jesus! I look up to you today, and always for my promotion and prosperity. Amen.

What good can you offer to someone today? Make a job out of it and when you get rewarded, give someone out of that reward.
