You Mirror Him
You Mirror Him
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17).
The Lord Jesus gave us the clearest picture of God possible. In John 14:7-9, when Philip said to Him, “ ...Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us,” the Master gave a profound response. He said, “...he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father.” He wanted them to know that He was the express image of the Father—the clear example and expression of the Father’s character. So, back in Bible days, the disciples saw and knew the Father in Jesus.
Someone might say, “We aren’t as privileged as the disciples who were with Jesus as He walked the streets of Galilee, Nazareth, or Capernaum, revealing the nature and love of the Father; how then can we know the Father?” Yes, Jesus is in heaven, but He isn’t expecting that you physically see Him like those in His days did. That’s why He sent us the Holy Spirit: “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever” (John 14:16).
The Holy Spirit lives in you today, taking the place of Jesus who is in heaven, and He looks, talks, acts, and loves exactly like Jesus. This is wonderful because just as Jesus mirrors the Father, being the express image of the Father’s person, the effulgence of His glory, you also are the icon of the Father. If today you want to see or know what God looks like, all you have to do is look at God’s mirror—His Word—and see Him in you. The Bible says as He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17).
His very life, the very quality of His personality and the characteristics of His glory are all in you today. His beauty, aura and perfections are manifested in, and displayed through you to the world. Hallelujah!
Dear Father, thank you for your glory, beauty, aura and perfections are manifested in, and displayed through me. As Jesus is the effulgence of your glory and the exact representation of your person, so am I. I walk in this consciousness. Hallelujah!
