(The Holy Spirit Can Unveil Mysteries To You)
TO THE BIBLE: Daniel 2:20-22 GNB
“God is wise and powerful! Praise him forever and ever...He reveals things that are deep and secret; he knows what is hidden in darkness, and he himself is surrounded by light.”
King Nebuchadnezzar once had a dream that got him seriously distressed. He gathered all his wise men together to help unravel the mystery behind the dream. “If you don’t tell me both the dream and its meaning, I’m going to kill you all,” he fumed. The wise men shuddered in fear at this strange request and said to the king, “...Nobody anywhere can do what you ask. And no king, great or small, has ever demanded anything like this from any magician, enchanter, or fortuneteller. What you’re asking is impossible unless some god or goddess should reveal it--and they don’t hang around with people like us” (Daniel 2:10-11 MSG).
This response made Nebuchadnezzar even more furious, and he issued a decree that all the wise men and magicians in Babylon be executed, including Daniel and his three friends (Daniel 2:12-13). However, Daniel boldly stepped forward and asked the king to give him some time. He got his friends together, and they fasted and prayed to God, who showed him the king’s dream and its interpretation. When Daniel revealed the king’s dream and interpreted it, the king corroborated and acknowledged Daniel’s interpretation.
The Holy Spirit is the one who grants you insight into realities, mysteries and secrets. He gives you the ability to know the future (John 16:13). With the Holy Spirit in you, you’ll never walk in confusion or uncertainty as to what school to attend, or which friends to associate with. Deuteronomy 29:29 says, “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us...,” but this was before the Holy Spirit took up His abode in your heart. Now Jesus says, “…To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God…” (Luke 8:10). Acknowledge the Holy Spirit in your life and He’ll illuminate your mind, granting you extraordinary amplitude to comprehend, discern and interpret all mysteries.
Daniel 6:3; 1 Corinthians 2:7-10
Dear Father, thank you for the abiding presence of your Spirit in me. There are no grey areas in my life because the Holy Spirit illuminates my mind with the Word. By Him, I have quick understanding in all things, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
